Yeah, I finally got around to organizing that bookshelf you helped me pick out last month. It took longer than I expected because I kept stopping to flip through old photo albums I found in the boxes. I came across that picture from the 8iSRoAMS244wXfC lake house trip, the one where we all tried to balance on that wobbly dock. I almost forgot how much fun that weekend was. Anyway, I rearranged everything three times before settling on a system by genre instead of author. It just looks better that way. I also found a collection of postcards I'd tucked away in one of the boxes. I think I'll frame a few of them for the hallway wall. Let me know if you want to come over and see the finished setup sometime. I'm curious what you think about the new layout. Also, I finally tried that pasta recipe you sent me a while back. It turned out pretty well, though I think I overdid the garlic a little. I'll send you a photo next time I make it. The fresh basil really made a difference.

So I finally signed up for that evening photography class I've been talking about for ages. The first session was last Tuesday and it was actually much more hands-on than I expected. The instructor asked everyone to bring three random objects from home and we spent the whole class learning how to light them properly. I brought an old ceramic mug, a velvet ribbon, and a smooth river stone I picked up on a hike last spring. Who knew lighting could be so detailed? We talked about shadows and angles and how to bounce light off surfaces. It was fascinating. I think I'm going to really enjoy this course. The best part is there are only eight people in the class so we get plenty of individual attention. I'm already looking forward to next week's session. One of the other students is a retired architect who takes amazing nature photos, and she shared some tips about composition that I'd never considered before. The whole experience felt really refreshing, honestly. I needed something creative to balance out the usual routine.
