Yeah I finally made it out to that trail we talked about last month. The weather was perfect and the leaves are just starting to turn so the views were incredible. We took the longer loop which was about six miles and honestly my legs are still feeling it today. There's a spot about halfway up where you can see the entire valley and I just sat there for ten minutes taking it all in. The trail was pretty well maintained except for one section near the creek where it was a bit muddy from the recent rain odO4vOasWeYBQXP and we had to step carefully to avoid slipping. I definitely want to go back next weekend and try the other route that branches off near the summit. Let me know if you want to join because I think you would really enjoy the challenge and the payoff at the top is absolutely worth it. Also bring plenty of water because there is no reliable source on the trail after the first mile. The parking lot was full by eight so I would suggest getting there early if you decide to go on a Saturday.

I finally tried that pasta recipe you sent me and it turned out way better than I expected. The sauce came together really quickly and the fresh basil made all the difference. I added a bit of lemon zest at the end which gave it a nice brightness that balanced the richness. My family kept asking for seconds so I would call that a win. The only change I would make next time is to use a little less salt in the pasta water because it was slightly on the salty side overall. I paired it with a simple arugula salad with shaved parmesan and a light vinaigrette which worked perfectly. Let me know if you have any other recipes you have been testing out because I am in a bit of a cooking rut and need some fresh ideas for weeknight dinners that do not require too many ingredients. Also the leftovers reheated really well the next day which is always a bonus when you are feeding a crowd.
