I meant to reply sooner, but the week ran away from me and I kept thinking I had already sent a note back.
My plan for the weekend is pretty simple now. I want to tidy the desk, put the papers in one stack, and finally sort out that drawer that has batteries, keys, and three pens that do not work.
I also started the book you mentioned, and the first chapters are much slower than I expected, though the writing gets better once the setting is clearer.
Yesterday I took a longer walk than usual because the weather turned mild for a bit, and it helped more than coffee did.
I am still trying to decide whether to repaint the shelf or leave it alone, because every color sample looks different at night.
If you are around Sunday afternoon, I can send over those notes after I clean them up and make them readable.

Walmart Rewards Team

I was thinking about your question this morning while making tea, and I realized my answer is probably less complicated than I first made it sound.
If the goal is to make the room easier to use, I would start by moving only one thing at a time instead of trying to overhaul everything in one afternoon.
That worked better for me last month when I redid the corner near the window. I shifted the chair first, lived with it for two days, then added a small lamp and a narrow shelf after I knew the spacing felt right.
I also stopped buying organizers before measuring anything, which has saved me from creating new clutter.
The other thing that helped was setting a timer so I would quit before I got tired and started stuffing random items into boxes.
If you want, send me a rough sketch later and I can tell you what seems practical from a fresh set of eyes.
