Thanks for asking about the pasta recipe adjustment. I tried reducing the egg count from three to two and swapped half the all-purpose flour for semolina, which gave the dough a much firmer texture and a slightly more golden color after resting. The hydration level changed quite a bit, so I added a teaspoon of warm water to bring it back together. Rolling it through the machine at setting six produced noodles that held their shape well during boiling and had a pleasant chew without being too dense. I let the dough rest for about 45 minutes wrapped in plastic, which seemed to help with the gluten relaxation. For the sauce pairing, I found that a simple brown butter and sage mixture complemented the richer noodle flavor nicely. Next time I might experiment with a small amount of spinach puree to add some color variation without affecting the taste too much. The batch made enough for four moderate servings, so scaling up would require adjusting the hydration ratios carefully.

Regarding the garden layout question, I ended up adjusting the spacing for the tomato rows to about 30 inches apart after reading that better airflow reduces the chance of leaf spot developing during humid weather. The raised bed dimensions are roughly four by eight feet, and I placed the trellis panels along the northern edge so the cucumbers can climb without shading the lower-growing plants. For soil preparation, I mixed in a balanced organic fertilizer at half the recommended rate and topped it with a two-inch layer of shredded hardwood mulch to help retain moisture. The pepper plants seem to be responding well to the drip irrigation setup, which runs for about 20 minutes every other morning. I still need to decide between bamboo stakes or tomato cages for the indeterminate varieties, though stakes might provide better support as the plants get taller. The basil and marigold borders are doing well and appear to be keeping some of the smaller pests at bay without any spraying needed so far.
