Hey, just getting back to you on the team potluck next Friday. I was thinking a taco bar might be the easiest thing to pull off. We can have someone bring the seasoned ground beef, another person can handle the shredded chicken, and then everyone else can sign up for toppings and sides. I already grabbed a couple bags of the small flour tortillas from the store near my place, so those are covered. For the guacamole, I can make a big batch that morning, but I will need someone to bring ripe avocados because the ones at the market looked a bit too firm yesterday. Let me know if you are okay with bringing the diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and the sour cream. We should also think about drinks. A big jug of horchata or some Mexican sodas would be perfect. I will send out the sign-up sheet link in a separate message by end of day. Oh, and can you ask around if anyone has a large warming tray we can borrow? Keeping the meat warm is the main challenge. Talk soon.

I finally had a chance to test the new recording setup you asked about, and I think I found a decent sweet spot with the microphone positioning. If you angle it slightly off-axis and keep it about six inches from the source, the plosives are much less aggressive. I also swapped in a different pop filter, the double-layer mesh one rather than the nylon sock type, and it makes a noticeable difference. For the room treatment, we might not need full panels right away. Just moving that bookshelf to the back wall and hanging a heavy curtain over the window reduced the flutter echo significantly. I recorded a quick sample this morning with the new arrangement and the waveform looks cleaner, fewer jagged peaks. I can share the file tomorrow after I trim the dead air at the start. Are you still planning to use the dynamic mic for the voiceover, or did you settle on the condenser after all? Either way the gain staging on the interface needs to be set around three o'clock to keep the noise floor low. Let me know when you want to do a live test together.
